How health depends on atmospheric pressure

A bad mood, a headache, and sometimes laziness, a person easily attributes to bad weather. Some of these statements are understood and even sympathetic. Others categorically reject this relationship. So, does the “heavenly office” really have such power over the human body? And how does atmospheric pressure (BP) affect health?
How health depends on atmospheric pressure
What you need to know about blood pressureScientists have been able to establish that the air masses surrounding our planet exert pressure on humans. Moreover, it is about 14 tons. It would seem that such a weight is capable of crushing all living things. However, this does not happen due to the internal pressure of the body. Both forces are balanced. This balance ensures a normal life on the planet.

How does atmospheric pressure affect a person and his health when he deviates from the norm? This question has not been thoroughly studied by scientists. However, some laws can already be said.

If the external pressure acting on a person changes, then the body of a healthy patient is fully adapted to weather conditions. So, for example, some people do not feel the pressure drops during take-off and landing of the aircraft, they easily transfer flights to different climatic zones.

However, not everyone is so lucky. In people sensitive to weather changes, the body is not able to adapt to changes in external conditions. Such patients are called meteorological. Scientists believe that health problems arise as a result of internal stress in the body cavities and blood vessels.

Risk group

Changing blood pressure does not negatively affect all people. Some do not even notice external pressure. Others complain of minor discomfort. But there is such a category of people whose well-being is sharply deteriorating.

If you have symptoms of low blood pressure, you should immediately go to the doctor
Doctors say that it is with the following pathologies that atmospheric pressure can adversely affect human health:

Hypertension, hypotension. A person’s internal pressure that is not in compliance with the norm can significantly increase or decrease sharply under the influence of external changes. Such deviations can provoke a hypertensive crisis, lead to a heart attack or stroke.
Respiratory diseases. The risk group includes people suffering from pulmonary hypertension, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In these patients, exacerbations are observed with changes in blood pressure.
Vascular disease. With such pathologies, the elasticity of the vessels is significantly reduced. They are no longer able to “adapt” to external conditions. This leads to persistent disturbances in blood pressure. Atherosclerosis is especially dangerous. Under the influence of internal pressure, atherosclerotic plaques are able to break away from the vascular walls, leading to thrombosis or thromboembolism.
The defeat of the psyche. It is noted that in people suffering from psychosis, schizophrenia, exacerbations may develop with changing weather conditions.
Strokes. Changes in blood pressure can provoke brain damage.
Diseases of the joints and spine. People often experience pain “on the weather” with arthritis, osteochondrosis, herniated discs, arthrosis. Sometimes old fractures or injuries disturb.
Chronic diseases With a sharp change in blood pressure, some pathologies may worsen.
With age, the tendency to weather dependence increases. This is due to a decrease in vascular elasticity and acquired diseases.
How does blood pressure affect the body?
Periodically above the Earth’s surface, regions of low or high pressure are created. The former are called cyclones, the latter are called anticyclones. BP can vary between 641–816 mm Hg. Art at a rate of 760.

When the weather changes, pressure may drop
Cyclones are characterized by:

high cloud cover;
strong winds.
Anticyclones occur:

heat or heat;
lack of precipitation.
The effect of atmospheric pressure on health completely depends on whether the barometer has increased or decreased in relation to the norm.

Low pressure effect

A decrease in blood pressure even by 10 units. delivers significant discomfort to weather dependent people. With a cyclone, humidity increases in air, and the concentration of oxygen decreases significantly.

Low head pressure can make your head hurt
People may complain of the following ailments:

shortness of breath
severe weakness;
heart palpitations;
throbbing pain in the temples;
discomfort in the digestive tract.
The most acute decrease in blood pressure is felt by people suffering from heart diseases, having suffered head injuries, faced with vascular pathologies and hypotension. Against the background of high humidity, the condition of patients suffering from pathologies of the respiratory system may worsen.
High pressure

Clear weather, as well as rainy, negatively affects the body.

With high atmospheric pressure, people may complain of the following health problems.
