Astellas Post-Doctoral Fellowship of the Amy Strelzer Manasevit Research Program for the Study of Post-Transplant Complications


The Marrow Foundation® and the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) are pleased to announce the availability of applications for the Astellas Post-Doctoral Fellowship under the auspices of the Amy Strelzer Manasevit Research Program for the Study of Post-Transplant Complications. This fellowship is directed toward physicians and scientists in training for careers in immunology and related disciplines, and is made possible through a generous grant from Astellas Pharma US, Inc. The Research Program is dedicated to the memory of Amy Strelzer Manasevit.

 Requirements and Conditions
  • One award will be made in the amount of $40,000 for one year's salary support. Payments will be made in two segments; upon receipt of grant and upon receipt of six month report.
  • Applicants must hold a doctoral degree, M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent. This program is open to any individual in an approved U.S. fellowship program for training in hematology, oncology, immunology, transplantation or a related field.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, permanent residents or foreign citizens holding a valid U.S. visa.
  • Proposals must describe research projects addressing immunological issues arising after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. The research must be a clinical investigation.
  • Each proposal must be accompanied by a letter of support and sponsorship from the applicant's primary research mentor.
  • The Astellas Fellow will be announced at the 2007 Tandem Bone Marrow Transplant Meetings (ASBMT and CIBMTR/ABMT) in Keystone, Colorado February 8-12, 2007 for the funding year July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008.

  • Completed applications must be received on or before Friday, January 5, 2007
